PANAM GAMES ENTRY STANDARDS

The President of the Panamerican Athletic Commission today alerted the
athletics community of the Americas of the standards that have been
recommended for entry into the athletics competition of the Pan American
Games to be held in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic on 5-9 August
2003. PAC President Amadeo Francis advised that each country may enter
one athlete in each individual event and one team in each relay event. A
country may enter a maximum of two (2) athletes in any individual event
in which instance each athlete must have achieved the standard indicated
within the period of Jan. 1, 2002 through July 30, 2003 Where a country
enters a single athlete in any individual event, it is recommended that
he/she should have been a finalist in any of the several regional and
sub-regional championships held during the qualifying period. [This
information is being released by the Panamerican Athletic Commission in
light of the delay of the Organizing Committee of the Games in
circulating the technical bulletins for each sport.

Also annexed is the tentative timetable of events which may be subject
to modification.
